The Bloom Mix is a hand-carved lino print inspired by indie rock.
Made up of flowers referenced in indie rock band names and song lyrics, each botanical illustration represents a different artist or track. Featuring nods to artists including The Stone Roses, Florence + The Machine, Guns N' Roses and Paul Weller, the individual motifs are collaged together into the shape of a vinyl record — a tribute to the music that has filled the Radio X airwaves and countless record collections.
Each print starts as an original drawing before being hand carved into a block of linoleum, inked with a roller and printed by hand. Once printed, each piece is individually finished with Uni-pin fine liner and Posca paint pens to add finer details. This traditional printmaking process means every print carries the subtle variations and hand-finished touches that make it unique.
Whether you're an indie music fan, vinyl collector or simply enjoy finding hidden details, The Bloom Mix is designed to be explored, with new references to discover every time you look.
For framing, I recommend pairing the print with an 8 × 8 inch mount in a black frame to complement the bold contrast of the lino print and give it a classic record-sleeve feel.

Originally created for the Homerton Hospital Birth Centre in Hackney, London, this A3 lino print brings together the British birth flowers for every month from January to December. Each bloom represents someone meaningful - those we hold close, those we’ve lost, and those who have yet to enter our lives.
